“You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view” (p.33 ll.12-14)
“Shoot all the bluejays you want, if you cant hit´ em, but remember it´s a sin to kill a mockingbird” (p.99 ll.34-36)
“Mockingbirds don´t do One thing but make music for us to enjoy” (p.99-100)
“I do my best to love everybody. […] it´s never an insult to be called somebody thinks is a bad name.” (p.120)
“But this is a true that applies to the human race and to no particular race of men. There is not a person int the court-room who has never done an immoral thing, and there is no man living who has never looked upon a woman with desire” (p.226)
Symbole:
- Bob Ewell: represents the dark side of the south (poverty, ignorance, hate-filled community)
- Tom Robinson: one of the Mockingbirds (damaged by society)
- Boo Radley: one of the Mockingbirds (innocent person)
- Mockingbirds: symbol of innocence (here: Jem, Tom Robinson, Boo Radley, Mr. Raymond)
